Travel Photos

This website is where I post travel photos from my various travels. It is a random sampling of some of my favorite pictures and places, rather that a travelogue type of format. I prefer this site to be a photographic glimpse of places in general. I hope you enjoy. ***NOTE: I don't update this blog frequently any longer. Wonderful Travel Photo Site

I want to make mention of a most amazing travel site,People and Places of the World . It is put together by Mr. Galen R. Frysinger. He has visited 169 countries in the course of his life, and has pictures of most of them. Wonderful photos that capture the essence of the place he is visiting. Pick a region of the world and you will be instantly transported there. Many countries, such as France, has page after page of photos, categorized by region, city, etc. A very useful tool for anyone planning a trip to that area. Plus, one of the treasures of the site is exploring regions of the world most people will never get to. In particular, I was fascinated by his pictures from such places as Libya, Syria and Iran. To the minds of most most Americans, these are evil places. Mr. Frysinger's photos show the exact opposite...countries with world class tourist sites and wonderful people. Another country he showcases extensively is Cuba. A wonderful looking place right in our own backyard. Yet, we are forbidden by our government from visiting this warm, inviting country. Yes, Cuba commits human rights violations. But so do countries like China and Russia. And we are free to travel to these countries. Plus, I find it slightly ironic that we denounce Cuba's human rights violations, while at the same time, we are being accused of this very same thing...in, where? Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
But, I'll get off my soap box. Enjoy your world tour, courtesy of Mr. Galen Frysinger.
