Princess Cays
Most cruise lines that wander around the Caribbean include a stop at a "Private Island", which is for the exclusive use of their passengers. The island that Princess Cruise lines uses is called Princess Cays. Technically, it's not a private island at all. It is located along the south coast of Eleuthera, which is a skinny, 100 mile long island in the Bahamas. Princess has done a fabulous job of turning this section of coastline into a very nice experience for their guests. With long, sandy beaches and swaying palm trees, it really is what you think of as a tropical Caribbean paradise. What's even more remarkable is that Princess Cays was destroyed by a hurricane in September 2004. It had just re-opened not long before our visit there in April 2005. You wouldn't even know it had been in ruins just a few months ago. I understand that Princess even donated money to the people of Eleuthera, to help them in their own recovery. Good job, Princess!
